She Breathes

2019 Award winning mobile chosen by the Hawaii Craftsmen 51st All State Juried Art Exhibition. Reflections on Hawaii Island's Mauna Kea as she, the mountain, stands in her presence whatever comes to her. Right now it is a standoff of whether the huge 30 meter telescope will be built on top of her. She already has 13 telescopes, with capabilities as no other viewing location in the world, yet, when does it stop, the desecration of her majesty in being Mauna Kea? Science will always continue, but her space is limited in my eyes. So, I stand in heart with the 'protectors' who are blocking pass...
